PCPhotoclub.org Exhibit – Light is Hope

The Peachtree Corners Photography Club has 100 juried photos on exhibit at the Gwinnett County Library, Peachtree Corners Branch, through March 31, 2023.  Four pictures below are on display in the Light Is Hope exhibit.  Follow this link to a short introductory video==>  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrGwpa9vqV0

There is Light at the End

This picture of hope is composed of two separate pictures blended together.  The tunnel photo was taken at Chateau des Ravatys, in Saint-Lager, France.

Iphone 13 Pro

September 6, 2022, F/15, 1/35 Sec, 5.7 mm, ISO 500

The light at the end of the tunnel in the exhibit photo was taken from a sunrise burst, behind a champion oak tree, on Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive in Decatur, Georgia.

Sony Alpha 7RIII

November 2, 2019, F2.8, 1/100/sec., 25mm, ISO 200

Lightroom was used to crop and transition the photo to black & white.

Photoshop was used to blend the sunburst into the end of the tunnel.

Hope for Beaujolais

Seeing the manual labor required to pick the grapes on steep hillsides, along the Rhone River in Southern France, led me to select this picture of hope.  It is a year-long effort to manicure the vines.  Migrant laborers pick the grapes, and walk them to the hopper.  From the hopper, they are lifted into the grape press.  The juice of the grapes is then poured into barrels and stored in the wine cellar.  After all of this effort, you can begin to “Hope for Beaujolais.” This is  hope for a great outcome that is anything but certain.

Seize the Morning Glow

This morning glory is bathed in natural morning sunlight at Cuscowilla on Lake Oconee.  The day begins with this inspirational light and it is for you to seize.

(Note – no artificial light added, it is the true morning glory glow)

Sony Alpha 7RIII

May 20, 2020, F 4.0, 1/160 sec., 90mm, ISO 1600

Sosebee Cove is a two-hour drive north of Atlanta and according to Georgiatrails.com:  “…175 acre Sosebee Cove Scenic Area holds century-old trees, abundant wildflowers and the easiest boulderfield to get to in the state of Georgia.”  While visits are recommended in early spring and September, pictures below suggest the middle of summer can produce a worthwhile visit as well.
